Stop searching, start asking: A recruiter's day with Taika, TalentAdore's conversational AI assistant

Taika, the AI assistant in TalentAdore Hire, now knows your positions, candidates and notes and can search the web. Watch a video with our Head of Product, Oskari Valkama, to see how Taika can help recruiters boost their daily routines.

Stop searching, start asking: A recruiter's day with Taika, TalentAdore's conversational AI assistant

When we launched Taika in April, we promised a different way of working: you ask, Taika helps. With the latest update, Taika takes a big step towards that promise. It now understands what's actually inside TalentAdore Hire: your positions, candidates, ratings, notes and more.

Recruitment can often feel like a juggling act. Check your calendar for interviews. See how many new applications you have. Evaluate the applicants, draft messages and hunt for that specific thing the candidate mentioned in the interview notes. That's dozens of tabs open and ChatGPT or Claude running on the side.

What if, instead of getting lost in tab chaos until your coffee goes cold, you could just ask your ATS to fetch all that information for you?

What's new: Taika has learned context and web search

Until now, Taika could spar with you about recruitment and help you with how the product works. The new skill is context: Taika can now access your recruitment processes and data, and understands what's going on inside TalentAdore Hire.

"This is part of the bigger vision we've had for Taika since the beginning. Not just adding more buttons inside the ATS, but a way to eliminate clicking and tab-hopping," says Oskari Valkama, Head of Product at TalentAdore.

In practice, that means you can ask things like "How many open jobs do we have?" and get an answer, instead of clicking through the system and setting filters.

Taika is also page-aware. If you're looking at a position, it knows which position you mean, so your prompts can be short and to the point. A simple "Who's new here?" is enough.

Taika can also now help you by searching the web. If you need data or help with something that is not inside TalentAdore Hire, for example salary ranges or job title descriptions, you can just ask Taika and get the information delivered straight inside TalentAdore Hire.

And all this happens securely inside your ATS – no copy-pasting or exporting sensitive data to external AI tools, where you lose track of what candidate data lives where and where it might have been stored.

To give you a better understanding of the new skills Taika has learned, let's go through a day in the life of a recruiter with our Head of Product, Oskari Valkama, as he walks through his favorite examples in the video below.

A recruiter's day with Taika: from first coffee to closing your laptop

Good preparation is an essential part of a successful day. Start your day by asking Taika:

"How many interviews do I have today, and how many new applications?"

You get instant counts and a pipeline breakdown instead of clicking through every open position one by one.

Then go one level deeper:

"Give me a brief for today's interviews: what are the interviewees' skills and potential skill gaps? What questions should I ask?"

__wf_reserved_decorative

Taika pulls together a briefing of today's interviews, the candidates, their profiles and internal notes. Because it has context across all of these, the brief takes seconds, not half an hour of tab-hopping.

Briefed and ready, you head into your interviews. Once the last one wraps up, it's time to follow up while the conversation is still fresh. Taika already knows the candidate and where they are in the process, so it can draft the message for you – including a recap of the next steps, based on your internal notes or AI Notetaker notes.

The same goes for rejection notes, interview invitations and other candidate communications. Taika drafts them on request, in multiple languages. You review and edit before anything is sent.

With the follow-ups sent, the afternoon is free for one of the hardest and most time-consuming parts of the job: screening. With context on the page you're on and across the software, you can ask Taika questions like:

"Which of these people have hands-on experience in executive search?"

…and get an answer without setting up a single filter.

You can also:

  • Build lists on demand – e.g. applicants in a certain stage or with a certain background
  • Surface top-rated candidates above a rating threshold
  • Track recent activity – stage changes and what's moved in a position lately
  • Consolidate notes and evaluation feedback into one summary, so you're not reading five people's notes in five places

Taika brings the information to you. Who moves forward is still your call.

With the shortlist taking shape, the day is almost done – almost. Before heading home, you still need to publish a new position, and you and a colleague disagree on what the salary range should be for this type of role.

Taika can search the web for up-to-date information – salary levels, market research, company details – and compare multiple sources. Your research and your ATS data live in the same secure conversation, instead of multiple tabs or apps.

(And by the way, we'd still like to see that salary range in the job ad itself. And so does the European Union moving forward.)

What's next: from assistance to action

"Imagine a scenario where you don't have to schedule any more interviews. You can just ask Taika: 'Please find me slots and schedule these candidates.'"

This update is about Taika knowing things. The next step is Taika doing things – sending messages, moving candidates and booking interviews, always with your review before anything happens.

"Our grand vision for Taika is that it can take actions on your behalf and drive certain parts of the recruitment process. Imagine a scenario where you don't have to schedule any more interviews. You can just ask Taika: 'Please find me slots and schedule these candidates,'" Oskari says.

If you've ever played calendar Tetris with five candidates and three hiring managers, you know why that one's worth waiting for.

Taika learns new skills all the time – stay tuned to learn what magic tricks it has up its sleeve next. 🪄

Taika in a nutshell

Taika is the conversational AI assistant built into TalentAdore Hire, TalentAdore's applicant tracking system (ATS). Since the September 2026 update, recruiters can ask Taika plain-language questions about their positions and candidates, get interview briefs, draft candidate messages in multiple languages, screen applicants without filters and search the web for things like salary data. All of this happens inside the ATS, on EU-based infrastructure, and Taika never makes hiring decisions.

Taika builds on a long track record: TalentAdore has been building AI into recruitment since 2016, from AI-assisted candidate feedback and AI Skills Matching to AI Notetaker. Taika brings that decade of experience together into one conversational assistant.

FAQ

How can AI be used in recruitment?

AI can take over the searching, summarizing and drafting that eats up a recruiter's day: briefing you on upcoming interviews, summarizing candidate profiles and notes, drafting candidate messages, and finding applicants who match specific criteria. The best setups keep humans in charge of the decisions and keep candidate data inside a secure, GDPR-compliant system.

What can TalentAdore's AI assistant Taika do?

Taika is the conversational AI assistant in TalentAdore Hire. It can answer questions about your positions and pipeline, brief you on interviews and candidates, build candidate lists, surface top-rated applicants, consolidate evaluation notes, draft messages in multiple languages and search the web for information like salary data.

Is it safe to use AI tools like ChatGPT with candidate data?

Pasting candidate data into general-purpose AI tools can create GDPR risks: the data may be processed outside the EU, stored, or used for model training, depending on the tool. An AI assistant built into your ATS, like Taika, lets you get the same help without candidate data leaving the system.

Does Taika make hiring decisions?

No. Taika gathers information, summarizes and drafts. Decisions about candidates are always made by people.

Is AI in recruitment high-risk under the EU AI Act?

Yes. The EU AI Act classifies AI systems used for recruitment and selection, such as screening applications or evaluating candidates, as high-risk. Under the Digital Omnibus, these obligations apply from December 2027. TalentAdore Hire and Taika are built to meet the EU AI Act's requirements.
